Helsinki is a modern city and due to its location has developed a varied culture with both east and west. The most striking feature in Helsinki is the different architectural styles. Neoclassical, Art Nouveau and National Romantic. The oldest area with a fine example of architecture is Senate Square. Sightseeing should also include Temppeliaukio Church, the Sibelius Monument and Market Square.
