Following a day at the World Travel Market, held in London,
I had invited our Ekaterinburg partners on a historical pub
tour (in a previous life I had designed and led such
tours). The word spread and I soon had 14 Russians in
tow, mainly from our partners office and the tourism
sections of the local government.
Konstantin was approached by the local government a few years ago to
take charge of designing a tourism plans for the city. His
secondment lasted 3 years and there are some noticeable benefits.
The self walk sightseeing 'Red Line' that is painted on paths around
the city centre is his brainchild and its final route was derived
from a large survey he conducted with the inhabitants of the city
seeking their suggestions for sights that should be included.
