
New High Speed Train Service
The Sapsan Train - a new 4 hour
Speed Train between Moscow and St.Petersburg:
The first journey will be made at 19:00 Moscow time [14:00 GMT],
when two trains will depart simultaneously from Moscow and St
Petersburg. The trains will make three runs daily - at 06:45 (arrival
time 10:30), at 13:00 (arrival time 17:15) and 19:00 (arrival time
22:45).
06:45 - 10:30 - duration 3hrs 45m
13:00 - 17:15 - duration 4hrs 15m
19:00 - 22:45 - duration 3hrs 45m
It has 2 business class and 7 economy class carriages and can seat 554
passengers, with a restaurant car serving a wide choice of meals.
The business class carriage provides wider seats (each equipped with
individual light and audio/video equipment), newspapers/magazines,
notebook plug/ Wi-Fi and hot meal/tea/beverages during journey. There
are 49 and 60 seats respectively in the 2 business class carriages.
Economy class seats
These are equipped with an individual light and meals are not included.
Each carriage seats 66 passengers.
The ticket price varies depending on the day of the week and departure
time. The most expensive tickets are for the 19.00 departure on a Friday
and Sunday.
Ticket prices range from 75 - 235 euro.
This new service cuts 45 minutes
from the existing fast 'Nevsky' service (2 out of the 3). The two Nevsky
Express trains are due to be removed from the route as Sapsan comes into
operation. |
