WHAT IS BEETROOT BUS?

Beetroot Bus is Russia's only backpacker bus.

WHO GOES ON A BEETROOT BUS TRIP?

Beetroot Bus is overtly run for backpackers. But, backpackers can be all kinds, and all ages! It has a young atmosphere, and if you are comfortable with that, there are not any specific age requirements or limits - although if you are not yet 18, we'll need your parents' written agreement. The on-board language of all the trips is English (if you have a small group of your own - enough to make a separate Beetroot Bus - and require a different language, we can do French, German, Spanish, and other languages on request). On the summer micro-bus based trips, the number of people on board is obviously limited by the size of the bus! About 6-14 people altogether.

A BEETROOT GUIDE? WHAT?

All through your Beetroot trip you get the assistance of one of our local guides. They are local Russian staff who are there to help you get the most out of the trip. They are not there to lead guided tours because Beetroot trips are designed to leave you free to discover the stops for yourselves. They can help you with public transport, questions about anything (well, almost anything) you need, suggestions for your free time, ideas of where to eat, what to see, what rip-offs to avoid, how to get the best value for your money etc. They all speak English - and, of course, Russian.

WHERE DO PEOPLE STAY?

In all the town/city stays along the way, it's 2* hotel accommodation, with private wc/shower. (Sometimes one wc/shower might be shared between two rooms).

In the summer-camps, these are traditional Russian-plan places which normally feature 3-4-bed rooms in wooden cabins - Russians LIKE it like this. The friendly shared cabin atmosphere is all part of the countryside experience.
