Perhaps you are flying via Cairo to another destination. It is easy to stop and at least cover the calssic of this historic city.
DAY 1: Upon arrival in Cairo, met and transferred to hotel. Balance of day and evening free.
DAY 2: After breakfast you will be taken on a very hectic day's sightseeing. First are the Pyramids and the Sphinx, at Giza, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, that survives into the 20th century. From here back into old Cairo and the Citadel, where a view of the old city unfolds, with minarets piercing the sky. Descend from the citadel and visit one of the largest and most famous mosques. Close by, and you are into the narrow medieval streets that make up the vibrant market area called "Khan Al Khalili". Again the evening is free to rest or take in one of the many "Arabic music and belly dance" evenings.
DAY 3: Free day to pursue personal sightseeing or shopping. A full list of suggestions, with instructions on how to get to them, will be provided. For museum enthusiasts, this provides the ideal opportunity to visit the Egyptian Museum to view the famous Tutankhamun collection of royal treasures.
DAY 4: After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight.
