Athens Stopover With Science


There are many itinerary suggestions for Athens, but this one is a bit unique in that it covers the classic, but also allows one to sample some of modern Greece by looking at some of its science museums. This is one for the science geek!

Day 1:
Transfer from Athens airport to hotel and&; have a city tour including a visit of the Acropolis.  You will see vistas of the Panathenaic Stadium (short stop). See the Prime Minister's residence (ex Royal Palace), the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, The University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces Of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon.

In the evening have a walk with our Escort to Plaka area for dinner in a Geek typical tavern.

Day 2:
Full day Athens city tour, including visit of the Acropolis museum, the Ancient Agora and The National Archaeological museum
Afternoon is free.

Day 3:
Morning visit of the Eugenides Foundation, including a visit at the Interactive Science & Tech Exhibition Hall, and a film show in the digital Planetarium. In the evening visit the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & remote sensing At National Observatory of Athens.

Day 4:
Morning visit of the Goulandris Natural History Museum and the Gaia Center - center of Environmental Research and education. Afternoon is free. In the evening walk with escort in Plaka area for a dinner at a Greek tavern with folk music and show.

Day 5:
Depart Athens.
