Tour Itinerary
| Day 1 (Tue) | Arrive Beijing (No meals) and transfer to the Beijing International Hotel. About the Silk Road China |
| Day 2 (Wed) | Beijing (B,L). Full day visit to the Temple of Heaven (watching the locals morning exercise activities), Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Summer Palace. Lunch included. Pearl workshop visit en route. |
| Day 3 (Thu) | Beijing (B,L). Full day visit to the Shaolin Kungfu Training School (or Sacred Way), and Badaling Great Wall. Photo stop at the Bird Nest & Water Cube if time allows. Jade workshop visit en route. |
| Day 4 (Fri) | Air Beijing Xian (B,L).
Fly to Xi'an. Lunch included. Visit to the Grand Mosque, Muslim Street and Bell Tower. Stay at the Jian Guo Hotel Xian. |
| Day 5 (Sat) | Xian (B,L,SD). Full day visit to the Terracotta Warriors & Horses, and City Wall. Visit to the ceramics & pottery workshop en route. Lunch included. Tang Dumpling Dinner Show tonight. |
| Day6 (Sun) | Air Xian-Dunhuang (B) Free at leisure. Transfer to airport for flight to Dunhuang. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the Silk Road Hotel. |
| Day7 (Mon) | Dunhuang (B,L,D) Full day tour: Mogao Grottoes, Sounding Dune and Crescent Lake with Camel ride. If time permits, a visit to the village nearby. |
| Day8 (Tue) | Train Dunhuang
Liuyuan-Turpan (B,L,D) Excursion to Yumen Pass (Jade Gate Pass), which was the west terminal of the Great Wall built in Han Dynasty 2,100 years ago. Back to Dunhuang and visit the Dunhuang Museum, then enjoy some free time. After dinner transfer to Liuyuan station for overnight train to Turpan (1/4 soft berth). |
| Day 9 (Wed) | Arrive Turpan (B,L,D)
An
oasis surrounded by desert and dry mountains. Upon arrival, we visit
the mysterious ruins of Jiaohe city, which reveal traces of a
prosperous ancient trading center and military base from one
thousand six hundred years ago. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the Huozhou Hotel for breakfast. After freshen up at the hotel, visit the Grape Valley, the Karez Irrigation System and the Jiaohe Ancient Ruins at sunset. Dinner and Uygur minority dancing and singing performance at the hotel. |
| Day 10 (Thu) | Turpan Urumqi (B,L,D) Day tour to the Emin Minerat, Bezklik Thousand Buddha Caves and the Flaming Mountain. Lunch at a Uygur family. Travel to Urumqi and check in the Mirage Hotel (B Tower). |
| Day 11 (Fri) | Urumqi (B,L,D) Today, we drive 120 km northeast to Heavenly Lake (with cruise), which is at an elevation of 2600 meters. The lake is flanked by rugged pines and cypresses, its melted clear waters reflecting the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Then visit a Kazakh family at a pasture nearby. Back to the city and visit the Xinjiang Museum. If time permits you may wish to visit the Bazaar, which is believed to be the largest outdoor market in Xinjiang. |
| Day 12 (Sat) | Air Urumqi-Kashgar (B,L,SD) Transfer to airport for morning flight to Kashgar. Upon arrival, meet at airport and visit the Kashgari Tomb and the Id Kah Mosque. Check in the Tianyuan International Hotel. Dinner with local flavors. |
| Day 13 (Sun) | Air Kashgar-Urumqi (B,L,D) Visit the Sunday Bazaar and the Kashgar old town including a home visit to a Uygur family. Evening flight to Urumqi. Check in to the Mirage Hotel (B Tower). |
| Day 14 (Mon) | Air Urumqi-Shanghai (B) Fly to Shanghai. Rest of day at leisure. Optional tour of Huangpu River with dinner (USD 39 net per person). Stay at the Ocean Hotel Shanghai. |
| Day 15 (Tue) | Shanghai (B,L) Full day visit to the Yu Garden, Shanghai Museum, Xintiandi and the Bund. Optional Acrobatic show with dinner tonight (USD 37 net per person). |
| Day 16 (Wed) | Depart Shanghai (B) Departure transfer to airport. |
