how
to find the price |
You will find the price & kitty of the trip on each itinerary under the 'Trips' button.

the
encounter philosophy |
The Encounter philosophy is to treat its expedition members as individuals with individual goals. That is why we do not have all-inclusive prices. We know that everyone will want to do different things. Some people love adrenaline pumping adventures, others prefer to roam around markets and spend time with local people.
Therefore we keep our expedition price to a minimum and use a group camping kitty. All other expenses such as site entrances, "wild side" adventure activities, etc. are personal costs.

the
expedition price |
| This pays for all land transport by expedition vehicles including road tolls and ferries, seaport taxes and vehicle fees, all vehicle entrances to national parks or sites, use of all expedition equipment, the services of the crew and local guides and vehicle accident liability insurance. This cost is paid direct to Encounter or to your travel agent. |
the
kitty |
On Encounter trips we now use a kitty. This is a group fund, administered by the group that will pay for all camping and hotel accommodation and all meals while camping. It will also pay for all expedition members entrance fees to national parks and other activities that are outlined in bold in the itineraries - these will be activities and areas which form a fundamental part of the trip and that everyone is likely to do.

personal
spending |
You will also need to bring along a personal spending fund for activities not included in the trip price, meals while staying in hotels, for souvenirs and for day to day spending on drinks, laundry, etc. In the Trip Notes for each trip we recommend a daily allowance. Each trip will vary, depending on the country, and full details can be found in the Trip Notes.
