If
you are young, fun, like to live on adrenaline, enjoy exploration or want to break down
cultural barriers, then an Encounter expedition is right up your street. Encounter
runs adventurous active holidays and overland expeditions through South America, Africa
and Asia. These trips range from 2 to 26 weeks. We
will take you there (wherever ‘there’ may be) and then you can choose what you
want to do. Each
trip has a number of different activities, ranging from simple cultural exploration to
really wild adventures such as climbing and rafting. |

Spirit
of Exploration |
| Encounter trips are run with a spirit of exploration. We prefer to be off the
beaten track and away from crowds. We will cross the Sahara, go to Timbuktu, hike the Inca
Trail or trek up the Karakorum Highway. On an Encounter expedition you can break down the
cultural divides that separate the peoples of the world. You will travel through the lands
of diverse peoples, learning about their lives and customs. |

Encounter expedition is not just a holiday, it’s a nomadic
lifestyle.
Some days may be travelling, others trekking, on safari, exploring ruins or simply
relaxing. At night we will either stop in the wilderness, or perhaps stay in a campsite or
local hotel/hostel. Camping gives us great freedom to explore where tourists can’t go. |
