Arrive Ulaan Baatar. You will be met and transferred to your accommodation. A two hour city tour with a visit to the Gandan monastery as well as the Natural History Museum. Overnight homestay.
Morning departure to Manzushir Khiid (monastery). This idyllic Khiid is about 46km south west from Ulaan Baatar. Picnic lunch at the monastery. Afternoon free to explore Ulaan Baatar. For those who want some exercise you can cycle one way or both ways. It would take the average person about three hours to cycle to the Khiid. Overnight homestay.
Drive to the Terelj for two nights. The Terelj is a beautiful National Park about 70km north west of Ulaan Baatar. Overnight Ger.
Morning drive back to Ulaan Baatar. Afternoon free to explore the city. Overnight homestay.
Free day to shop. You can buy souvenirs, local crafts, clothing and watercolours by local artists as well as many other products. Overnight homestay.
Opening ceremony of the Naadam Festival. Dinner with Bata. Overnight homestay.

How to get to Ulaan Baatar
Train #23 arrives in
Ulaan Baatar at approx 1400 after departing Beijing at 0740 the previous
day. This train operates twice a week. There is also a daily train from Irkutsk arriving UB at 0553 two days
later. There are daily flights from Beijing and regular flights from Seoul,
Berlin, Moscow, Tokyo and Irkutsk.

to Irkutsk departing at 2110 and train #24 departs to Beijing twice a week.
