Day One
- Transfer by
private coach from Heathrow Airport to your
central London hotel.
- In the
evening you will enjoy a welcome dinner at your
hotel, local restaurant or pub.
Day Two
- In London's
County Hall be transported into a world of
melting clocks and anthropomorphic sculpture in
the Dali
Universe.
- Moving
further along the South Bank is the Tate Modern,
a national gallery of international modern art.
Day Three
- This morning
you will visit the Estorick Collection of Modern
Italian Art. The Collection is known
internationally for its core of Futurist works,
as well as figurative art and sculpture dating
from 1890 to the 1950s.
- Many famous
and much-loved pictures are once again on view
for the public to see and enjoy in the new
Guildhall Art Gallery which was opened in 1999.
The original gallery was burned down during a
severe air raid in May 1941.
- In 1988,
Museum of London archaeologists made a discovery
that was to change the face of Roman London
forever when they unearthed the capital's
only Roman amphitheatre in Guildhall Yard.
Nearly 15 years later, the doors to the
amphitheatre are now open for the first time in
nearly 2000 years.
Day Four
- This morning
visit both National Gallery & National Portrait
Gallery. The National Gallery's
permanent collection spans the period from about
1250 to 1900 and consists of Western European
paintings. The National Portrait Gallery was
founded in 1856 to collect the likenesses of
famous British men and women. Today the
collection is the most comprehensive of its kind
in the world.
- Afterwards
the coach will take you to Buckingham Palace to
see the Queen's
Gallery. This is a permanent space dedicated to
changing exhibitions of items from the Royal
Collection, the wide-ranging collection of art
and treasures held in trust by the Queen for the
Nation.
- End the day
with a visit to the Tate Britain, holding a
collection of art from 1500.
- In the
evening you will enjoy a farewell Thames dinner
cruise with a live band on board.
Day Five
- Enjoy some
free time in London before heading back to
Heathrow Airport for your flight home.
