General News
For those that have not realised we
moved offices and are now in more spacious accommodation in Malvern
Melbourne. Good parking and only 50 meters from the railway station.
Our new website
dedicated to school travel is now up and running;
www.educationtravel.com.au
Now is the time to think about a possible
tour programme to enhance your students understanding of the language,
art and history they are studying. Exams are at an end and you can
ponder the future!
Whilst the recipient
of this email is more than likely related to LOTE, we do cover other
areas of school travel, so do forward this newsletter to a colleague who
you feel may be interested in our other 'subjects'.

Staff news..
We have a few new faces as well as the
return of an 'old' face - have to careful how I term that!
Giuseppe Bono
joined us at the beginning of this year and as his name displays, he is
Italian From Sicily he brings an extensive knowledge of Italy and of
course other European countries. Naturally his knowledge of the
historical (Roman and Greek) history of Sicily is above average.
Nalou Nhim, our
Parisian born and raised staff member comes equiped with a Parisian
accent as well. Of Cambodian heritage he also speaks Khmer and plays
classical Cambodian music.
Merryn has
returned to the fold following an extended maternity leave and works
mainly from home, but currently is in the office 2 days a week.
And me, Brent,
yes still here and still looking for unusual itineraries! |
Clicks & Bricks
'Whilst we offer a world wide WEB presence we are also 'flesh and bone'.
Combined with our 20 years of
operation we certainly have the bricks behind the clicks! Join us on one of our programmes
and sample what some of the more exciting parts of the world have to offer. Our clients are active in their
pursuit of the ecological and sociological balance between tourism and the environment. To
find that balance and to enjoy your holiday please allow our experienced travellers to
help you.
As you are aware we offer a diverse range of tours to Europe and Asia. The major
orientation of tours is linguistic, with history, art, music and sport as other
themes. Passport Travel prides itself in being able to offer tours to the prime
destinations as well as to countries considered a bit more 'exotic'. Our
extensive personal experience as tour leaders in these regions means a better
understanding of how tours should function in these countries.
Indonesia is a country we do not operate into so why not
consider Malaysia, similar in culture and language. Perhaps a geography
and ecology trip to the tribal regions of Northern Thailand, where in
addition to furthering your field experience you can also assist in local aid
programmes.
China: Through our sister companies long term association with adult
groups and travellers to china we have good ground logistics for school
programmes.
Gallipoli and the Western Front a favourite of Brent, who through family
history has explored many of these areas. He has walked the fields of
Paschendale and climbed the gullies at Gallipoli.
Music - orchestra, choral and brass/rock band. Brent has a fellow music
aficionado contact, of Australian birth, but a long term resident of Europe, who
has developed a specialist business concentrating on music. We can organise
orchestral and choral tours to either one European country, or a series and have
your musicians play in VERY suitable venues. These can range from 'halls' to
cathedrals.
Brent currently plays in a very active Blues/Jazz band and in his youth played
in 'rock groups'. Perhaps your school 'Band' might be interested in a music
ethnology tour to the U.S. to explore the historical 'blues trail. Add an visits
to the factories of Gibson and Fender and maybe an exchange with an American
school. You would have your own international, 'Battle of the Bands'. |
