The Boutique Beer Tasting Tour introduces Neil Miller to the Wild About Wellington team. Neil is a rare find. He is an expert in all aspects of beer; from brewing to enjoying it, and this is supported by years of research and knowledge. Above all, he is a top-level presenter who is fascinating to spend time with. He already has a following in the beer tasting community and writes for the press periodically, giving his view on the latest beers.

So, with that in mind, gather up your friends and family and make a date for one of our Boutique Beer Tasting Tour options. There is a minimum of 4 guests and a maximum of 10 guests on these tours.

The Brunch Tour - 11am to 1pm Monday to Sunday
This includes 3 tasting venues and a visit to a working brewery. Great food is served along the way, tasting notes are provided and it would be a superb way to round off a weekend in the city. The all-inclusive cost is $95 per person.

The Evening Tour - 5.30pm to 8.30pm Monday to Sunday
This includes 4 tasting venues and a visit to a working brewery. Great food is served along the way, tasting notes are provided and it has to be a fabulous choice for a night out for any group - business or social. The all-inclusive cost is $120 per person.

As you know, I live in the California wine country and have taken many vineyard tours, but never have I experienced anything like your “Beer Tasting a La Wellington” . It’s nothing like it sounds, the political atmosphere of the Capital, historic landmarks, unbelievable food and the Brewery Tour, were simply incredible. I never realized that beer had a history like this and “Neil” Well I just can’t say enough about his level of knowledge and professionalism, he was great! This is so much more than I realized and consider this a “Must Do” for all visitors to Wellington both men and women.

Itinerary

Each tour begins at the entrance to Te Papa Museum on Cable Street; although that is not where you will find beer, but your tour host Neil Miller.

Tours vary slightly in tasting locations, but during the tour you will be invited to view a working brewery to understand the brewing process, as well as tastings at top quality bars. You can expect a superb array of beers, great food and wonderful service throughout. As the tour progresses, you will walk through downtown Wellington with sights pointed out between tasting locations. Each bar and brewery brings its own history and Neil will entertain you with plenty of detail about the locations and the beers you are experiencing. The tour ends at the last bar on the tour, or at the railway station as a convenient place to take local transport.

- the all-inclusive cost is $95 per person for the Brunch Tour or $120 per person for the Evening Tour

- each tour has a minimum requirement of 4 guests and a maximum of 10 guests

- payment is made by cash or credit card (Visa or Mastercard) on the day of the tour

- tours run daily at the times stated, but tours can be arranged at alternative times by contacting us

- the tour includes your tour host, selected beer, food and tasting notes

- this is a walking tour throughout downtown Wellington, so please dress for the weather on the day

- cancellations to bookings must be received by our office at least 12 hours in advance
